Archaeographer
In 1995, he graduated from Vilnius Pedagogical University with a degree in history, where he obtained a master's degree in humanities. He has been working at the Lithuanian Institute of History since 1995. He defended his doctoral dissertation in humanities, "Vilniaus naujieji miestiečiai 1663–1795 m.“ (The New Townspeople of Vilnius 1663–1795), in 2004.
Research interests and specialisations: history of the early modern period; social and economic history; historical demography; migration of people in the past; urban history.
