Research interests and specialisations: functioning of the Catholic Church as an institution and community in nineteenth-century Lithuania, its relationship to nationalisms, aspects of the social modernisation of the clergy; the religious life of society, changes in the social behaviour of the clergy and laity; confessional policy of the Russian Empire in the North-Western Region, relations between the Catholic Church and other confessions in nineteenth-century Lithuania.
