The first EUROPAST Research Colloquium of the year will take place on 23 January at 6pm. Laurynas Kudijanovas, a PhD student at the Lithuanian Institute of History and a Junior Research Fellow at the Centre for Indian Studies, will present a paper entitled "Between Reality and Magic: Indian Memory of the Lithuanian Missionary Fr. Donatas Slapšys".
The research analyses how this Lithuanian missionary, who lived in India from 1921 to 2010, became mystified by the locals and what contributed to this perception: cultural differences, unique Indian spirituality or the missionary's efforts to change the locals.
The event will be held online. Registration: https://forms.office.com/e/MULYw0BtDG
The event will be held in English.
