In its work, the Ethics Committee is guided by the provisions of the Code of Academic Ethics of the Lithuanian Institute of History and the Committee’s Rules of Procedure. The committee receives and considers reports or information concerning possible breaches of academic ethics by members of the academic community of the institute. It initiates additions and amendments to the Code of Academic Ethics and submits them to the Research Council of the institute for consideration and approval. The Committee consists of seven permanent members of whom at least two must not be employed by the institute. The composition of the Ethics Committee is approved by the Research Council of the Lithuanian Institute of History. The nominees for the Committee of Academic Ethics are proposed by the departments of the institute. Candidates for the Committee of Academic Ethics must be of impeccable repute.
